Electricity Expert presents in Nanaimo

Nanaimo, B.C. Ludo Bertsch, a mover and shaker in the B.C.’s and North America’s design of electrical power efficiency and usage, will be the key-note speaker on Saturday (Correction – Nov. 14th).

His topic, entitled “Where is our power going?” will mainly focus on the new smart meters, painting a picture of the changes underway that will dramatically alter the interaction between the power grid and homes/businesses. Electric car charging that could reverse and supply power to the grid when needed. Monitoring or changing one’s home’s energy usage from a cell phone. Appliances that smartly communicate with the electrical grid so as to save costs and outages.

Mr. Bertsch represents a variety of non-profit organisations at B.C. Utilities Commission hearings when B.C. Hydro and Fortis B.C. apply for rate changes and planning. Few people in our province know as much about what is happening in the electrical world.

Mr. Bertsch will begin his presentation as part of the non-profit Energy Solutions for V.I. AGM at 1:30 p.m., at Brechin United Church, 1998 Estevan Road, Nanaimo. Admission is free.
